Welcome to the First Nation Employment & Economic Development Forum
We are proud to welcome you to the First Nations Employment and Economic Development Forum, hosted in partnership with the Murri Chamber of Commerce. This forum is a chance to speak truthfully, to sit with each other, and to honour the work our communities have been doing often without recognition to create strong, sustainable futures on their own terms.

Right now, there’s talk across the country about economic empowerment for First Nations people. But the reality is, many of our young people and businesses are still left behind, overlooked in decisions, under-resourced in practice, and rarely trusted to lead. Lets gather to change that – not just with words, but with action by lifting up the people, businesses and ideas already shaping change from the ground up.
Over two days, we’ll come together to talk about what’s working and what’s not. We’ll hear from community-led businesses, innovators, cultural leaders, and young trailblazers who are already out there building, creating, teaching, and shifting the narrative. We’ll explore how procurement can be a tool for justice, how culture can lead on the global stage, and how data, land, and enterprise can serve us when we’re in control of them. We’ll talk about mentorship, leadership, and what it means to grow without losing who we are.

This forum is led by mob, grounded in culture, and open to everyone who wants to be part of a future where First Nations people are not just included but leading.

We’d be honoured to have you with us.
