Rod is the managing director of Ninti One Limited, which is one of Australia’s most active social development companies that builds opportunities with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Ninti grew out of being the manager of 2 Cooperative Research Centres that ran for 14 years: the Desert Knowledge CRC and the CRC for Remote Economic Participation (CRC REP), both based in Alice Springs. These CRCs focussed on economic participation and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote Australia. Rod was the MD of CRC REP, and he has served on 12 boards, including Ninti’s’ Registered Training Organisation, called Ninti Training Limited. Before joining Ninti in 2014, he was the General Manager of an ASX-listed firm for 25 years where he was responsible for implementing nation-building foreign aid programs in over 100 countries, working out of Adelaide (Asia & Pacific) and London (Africa & Middle East). He is qualified in business (UniSA and University of Sydney), agriculture (University of Adelaide), psychology (University of London) and finance (Harvard Business School).
