Kelly Williams
Head of Indigenous & Diversity

Kelly Williams is a Bundjalung woman from Northern New South Wales and serves as the ABC’s inaugural Director of First Nations Strategy. With over 36 years at the ABC, she has been a driving force in advancing Indigenous representation and inclusion within the organization. Her leadership has been pivotal in coordinating the ABC’s last three Reconciliation Action Plans and the 2023–2026 Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Plan. Kelly has also spearheaded strategic partnerships with First Nations Media Australia and First Languages Australia, enhancing the visibility of Indigenous narratives across ABC platforms. Appointed to the ABC Leadership Team in May 2025, she is the first Indigenous woman to hold such a position, reflecting her unwavering commitment to creating pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in media. Her current focus includes implementing the recommendations from the "Listen Loudly, Act Strongly" report, aiming to foster a more inclusive and representative ABC.
